St. Charles Lwanga Parish hosts a variety of monthly events that deepen spiritual life, foster community engagement, and ensure pastoral care, inviting all to grow closer to Christ and one another.
- First Fridays: Every First Friday features all-day Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, with priests bringing Communion to homebound parishioners in the evening. Notify the office beforehand for those needing home Communion.
- Parish Recollection: On the last Friday (5:30–7:00 PM), a recollection offers Exposition, guided meditation, silence, and Benediction, serving as a mini-retreat for spiritual renewal.
- Parish Council Meeting: The Parish Pastoral Council meets second Sundays after the 10:00 AM Mass. Share suggestions via SCC reps or council members; meeting summaries are posted for transparency.
- Finance Committee Review: Mid-month Saturdays, the Finance Committee reviews budgets and expenditures, sharing quarterly summaries for accountability, though meetings are not public.
- Youth Mass & Fellowship: The third Sunday’s 8:30 AM Mass is Youth Sunday, with a youth-focused homily and post-Mass fundraising activities like snack sales or car washes.
- Communion to the Sick: On second Sundays, Extraordinary Ministers bring Communion to the ill at home or in hospital, ensuring no one goes a month without the Eucharist if desired.
- Confession Saturday: First Saturdays (4:00–5:30 PM) dedicate extra priests for confessions, especially for children and youth, often with a talk on making a good confession.
These monthly events strengthen our faith and community bonds. Stay updated via the parish bulletin or notice board and join us to live out our mission for God’s greater glory.
