Mission and Vision

Our parish’s mission and vision align with that of the Diocese of Malindi, contextualized in our local setting:

  • Vision: “That all creation may have life, and have it to the full.” (cf. John 10:10)[6] – We envision a community where every person experiences the fullness of life in Christ, living in peace, dignity, and harmony with one another and with creation.
  • Mission: “Building a Christian community that promotes dignity and peaceful coexistence among all people.”[7] – We are committed to fostering a Church-as-Family where unity, respect, and love prevail. This means evangelizing through presence and action, defending the dignity of every person, and being peacemakers in our diverse religious and cultural context.

Our identity as a Jesuit parish enriches this mission. Guided by Ignatian spirituality, we emphasize: faith that does justice, finding God in all things, and service that is “for the greater glory of God” (AMDG)[2]. We value Catholic traditions while also being open to innovation in pastoral ministry, in line with Pope Francis’s call to be a Church that goes forth (Evangelii Gaudium).

Core Values: In living out our mission, we uphold the core values articulated by our diocese[8], which resonate deeply with Jesuit ethos:
Reverence for Life: We believe life is sacred and inviolable at all stages.
Human Dignity: Every person is made in God’s image; we promote equal respect, equity, and inclusivity.
Unity in Diversity: We cherish the diversity of cultures, tribes, and religions in our community. We engage in ecumenical and interfaith communion, building bridges of friendship and understanding.
Solidarity and Service: Following Christ’s example, we stand with the poor and vulnerable. We practice stewardship of resources, truth, justice, and peace in all parish undertakings.
Spiritual Depth: Through prayer, Sacraments, and Scripture, we continually seek a deeper encounter with God, encouraging ongoing formation in faith for all members. Our motto, “For the Greater Glory of God,” reminds us that every ministry and activity – from liturgy to education to charity – should ultimately glorify God and lead people closer to Him.
